About this artwork
Arribas with this abstract composition makes a forceful, direct and impressive proposal at the same time marked by a delicate poetics of contrasts and nuances.
A dense red band supports a dazzling green sky, broken by a mysterious dark band where shapes emerge floating in a kind of weightlessness. Behind this minimalist appearance of the landscape, elegant and friendly, hides a tragic background brushstroke, a skillful brushstroke full of nuances.… The line, the color, the texture and the contrast are a reflection of his passion trapped on the fabrics.
The landscape is a pretext for the painting to flow. The matter becomes a hymn to life and freedom, a heartfelt reflection of living expressed from an evocative duality.
