About this artwork
Broken Structure (Catalan Composition)
Oil on linen, 195 x 375 cm (triptych). 2012.
In this large-format abstract composition, Arribas presents a direct and striking work, permeated by a delicate poetic blend of contrasts. The seemingly ordered structure fractures as if revealing a memory of the landscape, contained in open forms and fields of vibrant color.
Beneath this elegant and restrained appearance lies an expressive, nuanced brushstroke… that connects with Arranz-Bravo's emotional and chromatic tradition. Line, color, and material become vehicles for a vital energy captured in the canvas.
The landscape is only a pretext: the painting flows as an affirmation of freedom and life.
The work is presented in three separate panels that, when joined together, form the complete triptych, ready to hang.
