About this artwork
Printed on exquisite Hahnemühle Fine Art German Etching paper the work possesses a velvety matte finish that enhances its painterly… depth. This makes it indistinguishable from a contemporary painting from a distance.
Each print includes a 2 cm white border on all sides, perfect for seamless and professional framing. The print comes with:
1 A Hahnemühle Certificate of Authenticity with hologram and edition number
2 The artist’s signature on the reverse side
3 A second hologram sticker for the back of the frame, to be affixed after framing.

Working in long-term series, Langhout explores recurring themes of stillness, transformation and the passage of time. Water, forests, coastlines and flowers become recurring motifs through which he investigates the fragile relationship between reality and remembrance. Rather than capturing places as they appear, his work evokes how they are experienced, remembered and imagined.
Using a painterly visual language, his photographs dissolve the boundaries between observation and emotion. Reflections soften, contours fade and colour becomes a carrier of atmosphere rather than description.
Langhout lives and works in the Netherlands.
