About this artwork
This semi-abstract painting shows imaginary roads and fields, leading into a medieval Italian 'piccolo villagio'.
On the left there is a road that leads into a secret, unknow place. A little bit more to the right a road also leads into the unknow, into the light. Buildings might be recognizable, but in the meantime also confusingly formed and placed.
The artists always aims to the viewer getting an impression of an imaginary place to live, to move,… to find surprises, to let their eyes walk into the light. The painting is named On the road, to give the viewer space to interprete the scenery.

« I like to play with reality, colors, light, shapes, movements, and transform images. They might appear a little distorted, even if realistic, but I always search for harmony. »
Bea Evers is an artist based in the Netherlands whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in Italy. While the themes in her works have changed throughout the years, her current pieces are primarily semi-abstract landscapes. Evers describes her art as an invitation to the viewer to feel a sense of spaciousness, while also "giving the eye something to search for". She most often creates using acrylics and charcoal on wood or canvas.
