A figure emerges through fragments of aviation imagery, safety card graphics, aircraft doors and the spinning force of an engine ready for takeoff.
The work draws on a lifelong fascination with flight and the charged moment before leaving the ground. In the poem, the aircraft becomes a symbol of power, desire and escape. Armed and ready, the figure prepares to rise, where gravity, consequence and the world below disappear.
