About this artwork
In October, I deliberately traveled to the region around Füssen to spend a few days painting in the autumn. The landscape around Lake Hopfensee, with its expansive meadows and views of the Allgäu Alps, immediately captivated me.
This picture was taken directly on the balcony of my holiday apartment overlooking Lake Hopfensee. The warm autumn light bathed the fields and hills, while the mountains stood out powerfully on the horizon behind.
If… you look closely, you can even see the famous Neuschwanstein Castle in the distance, appearing small among the mountains.
In my landscape paintings, I try not only to depict a place, but above all to capture the mood of a moment – the light, the vastness and the tranquility of the landscape.
