About this artwork
This still life is a study in light, color, and reduction.
The lemon and the daffodils enter into a silent dialogue – an interplay of bright yellow, delicate flower shapes and the change between warm and cool hues.
The focus is less on the individual object than on the light itself: how it refracts on the surface of the lemon, catches in the blossoms, and sometimes clearly defines the forms, sometimes almost dissolves them. The visible brushstrokes… lend the motif a vibrant, fleeting quality and make the moment palpable.
The daffodils bring a light, almost spring-like movement to the composition, while the lemon acts as a calm, colorful anchor. This creates a balance between clarity and resolution – between object and impression.
Bernd Weber is a passionate painter who began as a self-taught artist and was influenced by international workshops. He primarily uses oil and acrylic paints, favors impressionistic plein air painting, and relies on quick, spontaneous brushstrokes to capture light, atmosphere, and the fleeting nature of a moment. His style is defined by direct observation of nature and combines classical landscapes with modern still lifes. His paintings convey a vivid longing for the outdoors and always capture the intense mood of the moment.
