Unexpected snow in December
This picture was taken on a cold December day in the hills behind Grünstadt. Snow is rather rare in this region, and on this morning the landscape was suddenly covered by a thin, silent blanket of snow.
The fields, paths, and hills appeared completely transformed. The light was clear and cool, and the colors of the landscape were dominated by the delicate blues and whites of the snow. The cold winter air and the still… atmosphere of this unexpected winter moment were palpable.
When I paint, I try to capture such special moments – moments when a familiar landscape suddenly appears completely different due to light, weather, and season.
