About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to immerse the viewer in a world of abstraction with a touch of pop art and a hint of naive innocence. Flora's eye gazes at the viewer as if to hypnotize them. Around her face, imbued with mystery and serenity, colorful swirls emerge to form a flower, symbolizing the connection between beauty, nature, and art. How was Flora born? With my eyes closed and pencil in hand, I intuitively trace the blank sheet of paper with my hand, connecting with my emotions. My eyes open, and I discover shapes and curves. A face emerges from these curves: I multiply the curves and features around it, guided by my intuition. Finally, I apply colors with a marker in successive layers to give the artwork a glossy, textured surface and add depth.

Her artistic journey began with oil pastels and landscape painting. She then explored acrylics and naturally gravitated towards abstract art. To enhance relief and texture, she incorporates varnish, sand, and plaster into her paintings. Her technique has evolved over time towards intuitive art. Her painterly gesture, almost ritualistic, traces curves and lines that spontaneously give rise to women's faces and concentric forms. Her canvases are adorned with red, black, and white, but also, in some cases, green and purple, capturing fleeting portraits of women. This combination allows her to explore striking contrasts and create works that are both simple and profoundly expressive. Her works are unexpected encounters, inner dialogues shared with the viewer.
