About this artwork
Rush Hour is part of my Rogues' Gallery series exploring the characters and fleeting encounters of urban life. Figures overlap and press together, sharing the same moment while remaining strangers, each carrying their own private story.
Through expressive linework, simplified forms, and bold color, I seek to capture the energy and emotional undercurrent of city life rather than a literal street scene.
One of the few mixed-media works in the series,… Rush Hour incorporates photographic imagery of automobiles into the painted surface, reinforcing the sense of movement, congestion, and urban density that inspired the piece.
