Painting from the vintage POPART series. Painted on 800gsm handmade paper. All the works in this series are based on found objects, both contemporary and vintage. Ink washes, chalk melted onto the ink and into the paper fibers, then the colors are re-defined with acrylic paint to achieve maximum brilliance. The painting conveys a sense of movement around the laces and a play of light in this very pop art composition. A highly textured… painting – resulting in a strongly textured effect.

Bruno BISI, a painter trained at the École des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, graduated from the École supérieure Estienne des arts graphiques in Paris. He began his career as an illustrator, color designer, then set designer and finally art director in animated cinema. He has always practiced painting alongside his work but has devoted himself to it entirely for more than ten years. Using colored inks, art chalks and acrylics on very heavyweight raw paper, the paintings are mounted on canvas stretched on a frame. He creates large immersive canvases where nature, plants and everyday objects intertwine in plays of materials and shimmering colors. His style fuses light, contrasts and textures, evoking wonder and contemplation before the elusive richness of the world, imbued with a deep emotional sensitivity.
