About this artwork
In this work, I developed an abstract and geometric composition inspired by a street in the Raval neighborhood of Barcelona. I worked from observations of the urban environment, transforming its lines, rhythms, and structures into a synthesized visual language.
The architecture, sidewalks, and perspectives are reorganized into geometric planes that construct a new interpretation of the space. I'm interested in capturing the energy of the neighborhood… through forms that condense its density, diversity, and constant movement.
Painting becomes an interpretation of the urban landscape, where reality is fragmented and reconstructed according to its own logic. Through geometry, I translate the experience of the street into a visual structure that maintains its pulse and intensity.

César Sánchez González works primarily with painting and drawing, rooted in a training that understands both media as active spaces for exploration. His technique is characterized by the accumulation of gestures, strokes, and materials, developing process-oriented surfaces where the pictorial, the object-based, and the conceptual coexist in a balance between control and chance.
