About this artwork
In this painting, I start with a realistic image that I transform through a process of layering. Acrylic allows me to work quickly and decisively, capturing both the gesture and the evolution of the image.
Each layer introduces a variation, a distortion, or a suggestion that expands the initial meaning. The image remains open, in tension between what is recognized and what is imagined.
Through this process I question the idea of the still image… and explore its potential as a space for change.

César Sánchez González works primarily with painting and drawing, rooted in a training that understands both media as active spaces for exploration.
