About this artwork
The ancient Egyptians, those who bequeathed a civilization that we believe is written in history books today, deeply respected the cat.
There is something about them that escapes our understanding, but that provokes such fascination, that even their figure was immortalized in a colossal structure.
Perhaps it was a message for future humanities... perhaps...
Beyond appearances, the energy that this majestic animal exudes is truly amazing.
Like… those Egyptians whom we now believe we have understood, without realizing it I found myself captivated by a small, moving sphinx... and only after drawing it with light and shadow was my soul freed from its spell.

After the disappointment of having attended university.
After being forced into exile... I discarded everything I had learned, which created more noise than anything else. I embraced my intuition and began an arduous process of subtraction.
Yes! Subtraction... a key word for my life. Which I've turned into my philosophy.
Therein lies the soul of my art.
Inspired by German Expressionism and Japanese Minimalism... I have conceived my style, which takes subtraction to its limits.
In both my photography and my digital printmaking... I use solitude, silence, absence and subtraction as vital elements.
It is absolutely not my intention to follow any trend, or reinvent it... only to express in images what my soul finds sublime.
