About this artwork
Fancy a walk?
This work is a small oil painting, 19 x 19 cm, on paper, presented in a very light pine frame measuring 37 x 37 cm. To give it a beautiful sense of depth, the canvas is placed under a pane of glass, about 4 cm away from the subject, creating a boxed effect that highlights the relief. On closer inspection, I have incorporated small collages of stones and other textured elements that enrich the materiality.
The inspiration behind… the painting:
This creation was born after a magnificent walk on a particularly warm and sunny spring day. Inspired by the vibrant light of that moment, I felt compelled to explore Impressionism, which I blended with my semi-abstract style. For me, it was the perfect way to add an extra touch of warmth and to make the sun shine directly onto my artwork.
Carole Fournier, a passionate painter for nine years, uses a mixed technique, enriched with coating reliefs.
Its colors, born from personal mixtures; based on food, cooking plants, Indian ink and pigments to make glazes. His signature, the gold leaves.
Retranscribing the majesty of nature and the intensity of the elements, thus revealing storms, tornadoes, clouds, volcanic eruptions, from the land to the sea. From time to time taking on a fantastic air.
Through her paintings, she expresses the power of nature and our insignificance in comparison.
