About this artwork
In this work, I sought to capture the complexity of human emotions through the subtle interplay of watercolors and Indian ink. The figure in the foreground, arms crossed and introspective, embodies an inner quest for meaning, while the figure floating behind him represents the desires and aspirations that inhabit us all. This duality creates an atmosphere of deep contemplation, inviting each viewer to explore their own inner reveries and reflections.… The whole emanates an energy that will enrich any living space with a touch of mystery and inspiration.
Caroline Champetier de Ribes is a sculptor and designer. Coming from a family of watercolor architects, she began drawing as a teenager, then a few years later, she began sculpting. She works with different materials: plaster, concrete and earth. She likes the raw and natural aspect of each material, which she wishes to preserve as is. She seeks to show through the very essence of each material, our own essence. This research is also found in his drawings made in ink and watercolor. His works, expressive and evocative, combine the poetry of materials and the echo of tales, revealing a deep and universal inner narration.
