About this artwork
I worked this face in mixed media on reclaimed wood. It reflects my fascination with the gaze. A timeless gaze across civilizations. No model or photo, this is a purely imaginary work, but I have always been fascinated by ancient civilizations. Here, reminiscences of Pompeii and the Fayum portraits stored deep within me.
