The picture shows a young woman with short hair. She didn't choose this hairstyle for fashion reasons. The long blonde hair she once wore fell victim to the side effects of chemotherapy. She had cancer. – All the more striking, then, is the radiance of her being, the presence of her strong figure. There is a great attentiveness in her gaze, almost a brave curiosity for what is to come. A manifestation of courage that I tried to capture. – Soon after…

Chris Bitzer works as a sculptor and painter, originally trained in church restoration, but he has explored a wide range of artistic disciplines. He favors photorealistic oil painting, mostly in black and white, inspired by the aesthetics of old photographs and imbued with a deep respect for craftsmanship. His works range stylistically from classical to experimental, as he constantly explores new techniques. In his paintings, he conveys a quiet yet compelling emotional depth, full of curiosity and a yearning for freedom, far removed from preconceived notions – beauty takes center stage.
