About this artwork
The painting "Jungletime" depicts a young woman at a party (or on the sidelines of one). She's wearing fun sunglasses and is carefree, completely absorbed in the moment. Her wide, laughing mouth hints at her party mood. The inspiration for the painting was actually taken at a wedding reception where a photo booth had been set up, inviting all sorts of silly snapshots. The painting radiates joie de vivre. It's executed in black and white with oil…
paint on canvas.

Chris Bitzer works as a sculptor and painter, originally trained in church restoration, but he has explored a wide range of artistic disciplines. He favors photorealistic oil painting, mostly in black and white, inspired by the aesthetics of old photographs and imbued with a deep respect for craftsmanship. His works range stylistically from classical to experimental, as he constantly explores new techniques. In his paintings, he conveys a quiet yet compelling emotional depth, full of curiosity and a yearning for freedom, far removed from preconceived notions – beauty takes center stage.
