About this artwork
In the fifth installment of the ZIP series, matter becomes both mirror and threshold. A silvery surface, punctuated by regular patterns, frames a deep blue field, traversed by subtle waves that vibrate like moving currents. The cuts emerge like tide lines: essential openings that mark the rhythm and establish a visual center. They traverse the blue without interrupting it, but organizing its flow, like necessary pauses within a breath of water. The… slit, a founding element of the series, here translates into a horizontal scansion that suggests depth and mental horizon. The blue—dense, iridescent, almost liquid—converses with the silvery structure that contains it, generating a balance between expansion and containment, between motion and stasis. In ZIP #5, silence is a held tide, color is a continuous vibration. The work becomes a space of immersion, a fluid threshold where the gaze finds its center. On display at the MIIT Museum in Turin.
Claudia Amadesi blends multi-material techniques and a passion for nature in her material and minimalist works, transmitting fearless courage in artistic exploration. The works stand out for their ability to play with light, modify matter and use it as a tool to deconstruct and rework reality, transporting the observer into a spiritual dimension. The boundaries with reality become blurred, allowing us to glimpse in each work the fruit of the visceral and interior impulse, grit that characterizes expressive artistic research through the “groove” technique. It is a tale of emotions and sensations, a journey into the depths of the soul. The matter, in her hands, becomes dynamic, comes to life in space, creating plays of light and shadow that amplify the visual experience, an invitation to a profound dialogue between the visible and the invisible, between emotion and matter.
