The painting 'Sven' shows my ex-husband in a passive, averted posture. He's wearing headphones, his gaze not directed toward the viewer, but slightly to the side or into space. His facial features appear neutral, almost blank. A facade that reveals no emotional depth. The background is a white wall, onto which shadows cast by branches fall. These are also visible on his face and body. The wireless headphones symbolize his isolation—not only acoustically,…
but also emotionally. However, some things remain hidden, which are reflected in the background. This suggests a landscape of escape—a projection and retreat. He is physically present, but has long since moved on to another world. The emotional violence—a form of abuse that leaves no bruises—is revealed in this painting through disregard, refusal of closeness, ignorance, and coldness.
