Das Gemälde 'Venus Verticordia' thematisiert Weiblichkeit, Verletzlichkeit und die soziale Konstruktion von Sexualität. Die Darstellung einer kindlich konnotierten Venus in einer beschädigten Muschel verweist auf den Missbrauch weiblicher Ikonografie und kritisiert die Sexualisierung jugendlicher Weiblichkeit ebenso wie die zerstörerischen Auswirkungen mythologischer Schönheitsideale. Venus Verticordia greift klassische Venusbilder auf, dekonstruiert…
sie jedoch aus einer zeitgenössischen, kritisch-reflektierten Perspektive.
Die zerbrochene Muschel wird zum Symbol fragmentierter (weiblicher) Unschuld und sexueller Traumata. Im Gegensatz zu Botticellis idealisierter Figur erscheint eine Venus, die nicht aus dem Meerschaum, sondern aus den Scherben der Realität hervorgeht – subtil in ihrer Form, doch von eindringlicher Aussagekraft.

Claudia Kaak is a painter with a background in art education, specializing in figurative-realistic oil painting. She uses her own photographs and film stills as the basis for hyperrealistic techniques, often characterized by intense attention to detail.
