About this artwork
In my work, I address the contrast between the rapid development of artificial intelligence and the gradual regression of humans. While robots learn to evolve, modern humans are becoming increasingly dependent on technology - to the point where they lose basic skills.
The work presents a dystopian vision: a highly advanced robot perfects itself, learns, thinks and creates. In contrast, humans are mentally regressing in their comfort zone and dependence… on artificial intelligence - almost as if they were being transformed into a new kind of Neanderthal.
Through this narrative, I question whether progress is always a gain or whether we are actually moving toward involution - a regression caused by our own technology. Is artificial intelligence our greatest success or our greatest risk?
Constantina Seracin is a self-taught artist specializing in surrealist art. In 2022, she left her management position at a supermarket to pursue her dream of becoming an artist. By 2023, she had participated in her first group exhibition in Bad Tölz, which led to a contract with a renowned gallery. Her work has been featured in Merkur magazine and published in the Belgian art magazine L'Eventail. Another highlight followed in 2024: The artist won the ArtdeSuisse Cosmopolitan Prize, which included an exhibition in Lucerne and a feature in the spring issue of ArtdeSuisse. Her surreal works, characterized by vibrant colors and profound symbols, blend reality with fantasy and invite reflection.
