About this artwork
The painting is a fascinating, surrealist depiction of a woman who is a symbol of creative mastery. The woman is wearing an elegant, extravagant hat that at first glance seems like an extraordinary fashion accessory. But a closer look reveals a surprising world in miniature: a small room with soft, warm colors opens up on the crown of the hat.
Inside this room is a table at which three figures sit - an intimate and meaningful encounter. The artist… herself is recognizable, engrossed in conversation with Frida Kahlo, portrayed with her characteristic style and an aura of strength and vulnerability, and Vincent van Gogh. The three figures seem deeply involved in discussion, their gestures suggesting the exchange of ideas and techniques - a symbolic "mastermind" meeting across the boundaries of space and time.
Constantina Seracin is a self-taught artist specializing in surrealist art. In 2022, she left her management position at a supermarket to pursue her dream of becoming an artist. By 2023, she had participated in her first group exhibition in Bad Tölz, which led to a contract with a renowned gallery. Her work has been featured in Merkur magazine and published in the Belgian art magazine L'Eventail. Another highlight followed in 2024: The artist won the ArtdeSuisse Cosmopolitan Prize, which included an exhibition in Lucerne and a feature in the spring issue of ArtdeSuisse. Her surreal works, characterized by vibrant colors and profound symbols, blend reality with fantasy and invite reflection.
