About this artwork
This work arose from a moment that had been only a dream for many years. In Dubai, I finally had the opportunity to encounter a humanoid robot – a technological creation so close to humans that it felt both familiar and alien. Standing there, I was so overwhelmed that I couldn't utter a word for several minutes.
This mixture of fascination, joy, and subtle strangeness forms the emotional basis of the painting. The two central figures – one human… and one android – meet as equals.
Constantina Seracin is a self-taught artist specializing in surrealist art. In 2022, she left her management position at a supermarket to pursue her dream of becoming an artist. By 2023, she had participated in her first group exhibition in Bad Tölz, which led to a contract with a renowned gallery. Her work has been featured in Merkur magazine and published in the Belgian art magazine L'Eventail. Another highlight followed in 2024: The artist won the ArtdeSuisse Cosmopolitan Prize, which included an exhibition in Lucerne and a feature in the spring issue of ArtdeSuisse. Her surreal works, characterized by vibrant colors and profound symbols, blend reality with fantasy and invite reflection.
