About this artwork
Crucible is carved from rich red marble, its depth and veining echoing the intensity of transformation. I approached this piece as a dialogue between pressure and release—solid mass opening into curve, tension giving way to flow.
The central void is as important as the stone around it, suggesting a passage or trial. Smooth, continuous lines carry light and shadow across the surface, revealing strength and vulnerability in the same form.
Like much… of my work, Crucible is less a literal figure and more a vessel for movement, resilience, and renewal. Seen from different angles, it shifts between weight and lift, solidity and breath—a quiet reminder that what we endure can refine us into something more focused and alive.
