Mumeration
I draw the title of this sculpture from the murmuration of starlings at dusk—the fluid, collective flight of thousands of birds moving as one across the sky. In this piece, I translate that phenomenon into marble, letting the form rise and twist like a single, continuous gesture of weightless, coordinated motion.
I chose this particular marble for the fine particles and subtle veining within it, which echo the flicker and shimmer of… countless small bodies in flight. Through minimalist abstraction, I’m depicting the essence of their shared energy and graceful, ever‑changing movement.
