About this artwork
Although at first glance it may appear to be an abstract work without a defined meaning, in this case it is a piece firmly rooted in contemporary reality. The title "Everything is computer" is a quote from the current US president and refers to the way we consume images today, where digital space seems to be increasingly gaining ground over physical presence. This image hybridizes geometric visual compositions veiled by an intense blue hue, open… projection graphics with patterns reminiscent of television or radio waves, and right in the middle of all this dense and powerful color is a small, bright green dot, like a tiny pixel that has stopped working, posing a moment of doubt where the pictorial image comes into contact with the digital. This detail, which may go unnoticed at first glance, is what articulates the entire image and gives it its meaning.
David San Francisco, PhD in Fine Arts, primarily uses oil, acrylic, resins, waxes, colored pencils, and metals, merging his academic and teaching background with his artistic practice. His technique explores ambiguous abstraction, employing the subtraction and addition of materials to create geometric compositions that engage the viewer, inviting them to assign personal meaning to each work. His paintings evoke an emotional and cognitive transformation, prompting a continuous reinterpretation and renewal of the viewer's visual memory.
