About this artwork
The work entitled “Four Seasons” is an evocation of the succession of spring, summer, autumn and winter, forming a patchwork of moiré colors intertwining in an irregular checkerboard. The spring tones are reminiscent of those chosen by Monet to paint the Giverny gardens in bloom, green and gold represent summer and its ripe wheat, copper and red fall adornments, while the cold colors and dark evoke the blanket of snow and ice of wintry nights.
