About this artwork
The composition entitled "Seven Sisters" is a personal interpretation of a sacred legend (Jukurrpa) which takes up the codes of pointillism in Aboriginal art. Jindoo, the creator god, sends two spirit men to Earth to create hills, valleys, lakes and oceans. He then sends Seven Sisters, stars of the Milky Way, to beautify the Earth with flowers, trees and animals. But the youngest of the sisters falls in love with the spirit men. They are then all…
three condemned to lose their powers and stay on Earth, becoming the first mortals, ancestors of the aboriginal people.

David Vall is an artist based in France whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy, Spain, and England. Inspired by natural elements, movement, and light, his works convey an ambivalence between darkness and light, interweaving mystery between surface and depth. Vall's bold abstractions are most often created using acrylics on canvas.
