About this artwork
This area in central Ohio encompasses a network of forest, outcrops of rock, rivers, and waterfalls. This painting was started en plein aire and completed in my studio. This was a unique moment after a heavy rain. The sun struck the sand at the bottom of the waterfall and reflected golden light upwards on the cliff face, so it presented two different light sources. It is a large canvas for Plein Air work, and finding the spot and getting supplies…
to that spot the whole trip was a birthday gift from my family.
