About this artwork
A boat trip on Lake Erie yielded this surrealistic image. The American Flag waving above "Glads" (Gladioli) on the bow of the boat. Watching the flag gladly waving for hours gave forth the words "Glad" and "Flag", the more symbolic it seemed to become. "From Sea to Shining Sea" became another possible title, so I added to the lower left a suggestion of the Florida Coastline, and to the right, the Oregon Coastline.
