About this artwork
Echoe Residue belongs to my Liminal Drift series — digital works that explore presence through subtle shifts, textures, and hesitation.
This piece emerged from a desire to create something that feels both layered and silent. It suggests a trace — the afterimage of something once held, now dissolved. The forms are compressed, blurred, and almost suspended in fog. I wanted to evoke that moment when clarity recedes, and all that’s left is the shimmer… of memory.
There’s something storm-like here — not an explosion, but a pressure that lingers. Echoe Residue carries a slow atmosphere, a kind of weight in the air. It reflects a moment of tension between holding and letting go, between visibility and vanishing.
As with the rest of the series, Echoe Residue exists as both a still image and an animation. The printed version is produced on Hahnemühle Photo Rag using Giclée technology, offering soft depth and tactile richness. All versions are part of a strictly limited edition of 5.

Denis Leclerc, a classically trained painter and accomplished digital artist, bridges the worlds of fine art and visual communication with an expansive practice rooted in oil, acrylic, and digital media. His intricate, layered digital abstractions skillfully blend painterly gestures with subtle animation, drawing from a meditative, minimalist sensibility or a lush, baroque digital vocabulary. Each piece explores transformation and ambiguity, inviting viewers into liminal spaces where forms shift and dissolve—conveying emotions of suspension, quiet resonance, and lingering presence that invite slow, contemplative attention.
