Parietal V is not something I feel I’m looking at. It’s something I feel I’m standing in front of, as if a form were trying to surface through it.
At first, nothing is clearly defined. The image hesitates, dissolves, almost disappears into the surrounding field. But the longer I stay, the more a presence begins to gather at the centre. Not fully visible, never fixed — just enough to suggest that something is there, pressing against the surface,… trying to take shape.
I didn’t want to resolve it. I stopped just before it could become an image. What interests me is that unstable moment — when something is about to appear, but still resists being seen. The texture isn’t a background; it’s an active space, almost a membrane. It holds the form back as much as it lets it emerge.
With Parietal V, the work feels less like a composition and more like a threshold. Something is there. But it refuses to fully arrive.
