About this artwork
"Drama on Stage" tells of a moment that seems frozen—as if everything had tensed up just before the performance. Two glasses in the center, one empty, one half-filled with water, seem like opposing forces: still, transparent, but full of tension. The stage is a turquoise background, illuminated by light from above. Everything around it disappears into darkness—like in the theater when the curtain rises.
On the left, a branch with red berries and… leaves brings the picture to life; on the right, four oranges lie on a white plate. In the foreground, a lemon and a few berries—like casually placed props.
For me, it's about the contrast between presence and restraint, between calm and tension. Anyone who looks at the painting enters a scene in which every object plays a role. Perhaps a viewer recognizes in it the desire to preserve moments of intense clarity—or the courage to become visible at the right moment.
