About this artwork
My interpretation of the drawing is based on the work of Gejza SCHILLER (1895-1927)
In this piece, I poured raw emotion through loose, expressive strokes with pastel, capturing the fleeting essence of introspection. The mix of abstraction and semi-abstract lines reveals the complexity beneath calm surfaces, while the muted yet vibrant palette breathes life and tension. It’s a conversation between fragility and strength that will invite energy and… thoughtful presence into any space it touches.

Dmitriy Vasilenko, a painter educated at the V.A. Ptashinsky Art School No. 1 and now at Krasnodar Art School, works primarily with monotyping. He draws on classic literary themes, notably “The Master and Margarita,” infusing his art with dramatic contrasts of light, monochromatic palettes, and assertive lines. His expressive, associative style—employing elements of chance—sparks the viewer’s imagination. Vasilenko’s evocative images serve as a heartfelt invitation, bridging the gap between reality and a new dimension of feelings, evoking love of life and profound emotional experience.
