About this artwork
In my latest works, Vineta 2 and Vineta 3, the mythical golden city of Vineta faces its demise, swallowed up by the relentless sea. This series captures the moment of collapse—a fusion of chaos and fragile beauty.
For the first time, I experimented with molded canvas—a hardened fabric that forms powerful waves: a towering tsunami in Vineta 2 and wild, uncontrollable masses of water in Vineta 3. The golden city itself is made from my homemade modeling… paste, which cracks as it dries, symbolizing the city's crumbling structures as the water pours in. Sparkling glass fragments, shells, and shimmering glitter enhance the textures and reflect the splendor of Vineta as it disappears beneath the sea. One nail is sufficient for hanging. Materials used: canvas fabric, acrylic binder, marble dust, acrylic paint, acrylic ink, shells, glass fragments, glitter.
