About this artwork
This is Vineta 5, the latest work in my series of sculptural paintings inspired by the myth of the sunken golden city of Vineta. The original canvas size was 15 x 15 cm, but through sculptural shaping and layering, the final format increased to approximately 17 x 19 x 4 cm. For this work, I first completely covered the canvas with sculptural, hardened fabric—symbolic of the ancient city itself, now encrusted in folds like forgotten architecture.…
The surface is painted with gold and bronze acrylic ink, giving it a faded, regal sheen. The rising blue water—represented by thick, swirling textured paste tinted with acrylic paints—creeps up the sides and edges, visually enveloping the form. Natural shells and cool glass fragments are embedded as remnants of sea life and memories.
