About this artwork
In the isolated, snow-blown cliffs of the mountains, where the wind whispers tales of ancient myths, stands the monolithic structure. The relic of an era that should never have been. The concrete block with the monstrous armored door was no mere coincidence in this inhospitable landscape. The pipes that protrude from its interior and bore into a grotesque, oversized apple form the heart of a long-extinguished dream.

Self-employed since 2002. Resident and working in the Rhineland near Bonn since 2005.
Eberhard Marx is a painter and draftsman who masters Old Master painting and drawing techniques in the style of magical realism, fusing gestural lines with richly detailed symbolism and fairytale architecture. His works create a dense atmosphere between dream and history, captivating with dramatic stylistic shifts and transporting the viewer into suspenseful, enigmatic pictorial worlds full of emotion and depth.
