About this artwork
A rusty structure juts out from the inhospitable desert landscape like a petrified thought from a long-forgotten era. Stilts of corroded metal dig into the rocky ground, a nest of antennas rises against the cold, blue sky. Beyond, the jagged, icy peaks of the mountains stand out like teeth biting into the silence of space.
In the blackness of the sky, in the endless firmament, the stars shimmer, cold and unapproachable. Beneath them, half-buried… in the sand, lies an apparently female android. Her artificial skin has become dull from the elements, her features strangely peaceful. Headphones encircle her head, and cables connect her to the monstrous structure above. She doesn't breathe, doesn't speak...

Eberhard Marx is a painter and draftsman who masters Old Master painting and drawing techniques in the style of magical realism, fusing gestural lines with richly detailed symbolism and fairytale architecture. His works create a dense atmosphere between dream and history, captivating with dramatic stylistic shifts and transporting the viewer into suspenseful, enigmatic pictorial worlds full of emotion and depth.
