Nowadays, when work fills our days, we often dream of the ocean or the sea. Escaping to the sea isn’t always possible. Still, the desire remains—to stand by the shore, feel the wind, and let the waves carry our worries away.
There is something about the sea and ocean that makes us stop and feel. When we look at the waves, we feel calm, yet full of energy. The water is always moving, always alive. It has no end, no beginning—just endless motion.… The colours of the sea change like our emotions—deep blue in quiet moments, bright turquoise when touched by the sun, silver and white when the waves break into foam
Scientists say water reduces stress. I believe it. Standing by the sea, my thoughts lighten, my breath deepens. The sea gives peace but also strength.

Emil Kasymov is an artist based in Kyrgyzstan whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally, as well as in China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Denmark. He believes that art cannot exist without meaning and that each composition is imbued with an aura that one feels instead of sees. Often creating a painting, Kasymov will sometimes spend up to three days in nature to fully "hear and feel" before beginning a piece.
