About this artwork
In this work, I used acrylic and quartz sand to create a geometric shape that shines like a bright star. I incorporated various elements into the circles, such as hearts, stars, and wooden flowers, alternating with shells and glass stones. The elements are painted with acrylic paint. Cast plaster roses and wooden flower shapes are placed on gold paint in the outer circle of the star. At the corners of the star are wooden semicircles, which I covered… with gold acrylic. By embedding the elements with paint, I condense the image until a sense of calm and power emerges. It is intended to convey light and warmth, a positive energy that fills any room with elegance and harmony. The combination of abstract form and precious materials symbolizes the radiance of life and inner strength.
The center of the picture is the heart from which everything naturally springs.
Erika Margarete Jansen works as a painter and fashion designer, combining painting and sewing as a creative form of expression since childhood. Her multifaceted compositions emerge intuitively through the use of her hands, palette knives, sponges, paint rollers, and various natural materials such as quartz sand, gemstones, and sewn paper. Her works convey a profound harmony and joy, inspired by the beauty and sound of nature, which she brings to life visually and emotionally.
