About this artwork
In this work I merge abstraction with structure to celebrate harmony and balance. The combination of acrylic and quartz sand gives the picture a tactile depth. In the center I have placed a golden rose. It represents the splendor in our hearts. In the circles I placed semi-precious stones, wooden stars, glass stones, shells and Shiva eyes, walnut halves and mother-of-pearl plates. Everything is worked into the circles with acrylic paint. The bright… blue and the golden accents symbolize light and clarity, which I want to give to every room in which this picture hangs. It is a powerful symbol for inner peace and spiritual clarity. The golden birds in the corners fly to the center. To the heart of the picture, where the energy is concentrated and radiates outwards. For me then the sentence came to mind: stay in the center and preserve yourself in your nature.
Erika Margarete Jansen works as a painter and fashion designer, combining painting and sewing as a creative form of expression since childhood. Her multifaceted compositions emerge intuitively through the use of her hands, palette knives, sponges, paint rollers, and various natural materials such as quartz sand, gemstones, and sewn paper. Her works convey a profound harmony and joy, inspired by the beauty and sound of nature, which she brings to life visually and emotionally.
