About this artwork
We are women, we are amazing and we are superheroes.
With these mixed media I explore a different way of representing women and illustrating the feminine, inspired by Louise Bourgeois' quote: "An artist can show things that others are too afraid to express." I combine photography, paint and textile techniques. All images were taken in my neighborhood because women are everywhere.
By adding graphic elements and colors, I create a surreal universe… - where women can transform themselves into anything they dream of. Everything is possible through the female gaze. The aim is to question common stereotypes and offer a different perspective. The artworks invite you to discover your own desires and interests, off the beaten track. Let's celebrate femininity.
