About this artwork
This work is a mixed media on canvas. It combines photography, color, and textile techniques. The photo, the "canvas" of the work, was taken in Mexico. It is a self-portrait, taken on March 8th, International Women's Day. First, a digital collage was created from this photo, which inspired me again and again to go my own way, no matter what it may look like. I would like to share this inspiration with this work. The saying in the middle of the picture…
was written with a sewing machine and with the help of embroidery made of gold and colorful threads. This work is a call for non-conformism and for a life outside of all pigeonholes and prefabricated life plans.
