The work takes inspiration from the processions in use in southern Italy, in the pre-Easter period, precisely during Holy Week, in Canosa di Puglia.
In this procession, following the statue of the Madonna, many women in black robes and black veils covering their faces. One exuberant figure stands out among the crowd, yet another attempt to completely break with the hieratic tradition of the supernatural: treating the divine separately from the profane.… After all, what other excuse could I offer to capture the observer's attention than this shocking transgression from the usual conception of the sacred in human history?
In this work, surreal atmospheres and vibrant pop colors, the contrast between light and shadow evokes a sense of sacredness and restlessness. Energy charged with strong emotions and intense reflections permeates every space. "Retouchè" canvas print. One-of-a-kind.
« A labyrinth of real and surreal subjects where seduction is the red thread that binds and the dream is the cosmic space in which to take refuge and live. »
