About this artwork
.OA – Unburnable Spirit is a luminous and symbolic work that explores the concepts of identity, resistance, and inner fire. The transparent plexiglass panel hosts two visual layers: on the front, a simple black-and-white image of the SOA logo; on the back, the same symbol engulfed in flames.
The interplay of depth and transparency, combined with LED lighting, transforms the work into a living, three-dimensional object, where light passes through… and animates the symbol. The PVC frame, decorated with a custom graphic film, completes the composition, lending it strength and coherence.
The work represents a spirit that cannot be burned, an identity that resists time and the elements. It's a powerful visual statement: fire can envelop, but not consume, what is born incandescent.
Fabio Tolu, a self-taught artist, stands out for the creation of three-dimensional compositions that blend sculpture, painting and installation, deriving from the world of construction. Using a variety of materials such as resin, stucco, acrylics, metal and LED lights, Tolu creates material and luminous works, where visual and conceptual art merge. His works reflect social, cultural and political themes, transforming ideas and reflections into concrete and powerful images, and inviting the viewer to look beyond the surface to discover hidden truths.
