Part of the series “Colors of the Swabian Alps”.
"Forest Edge at Buchberg" depicts a narrow path winding through the woods on the hillside. Between the slender tree trunks, it leads deeper into the open canopy, guiding the eye through the image. Small patches of light and glimpses of sky and landscape repeatedly open up between the trunks.
The vertical trunks form a rhythmic network of lines, supported by loose, visible brushstrokes. Cool blues… and greens define the atmosphere of the forest, while warm ochre accents in the trunks highlight light and texture.
The focus is less on topographical accuracy than on the atmosphere and the experience of moving through this landscape.
