About this artwork
The painting "You deserve Joy" suggests a flowering meadow or perhaps a lush bouquet of flowers; the viewer is invited by the dynamics of the left half of the picture to see beyond the painting and to give space to his imagination. In Françoise Wattré's work, "You deserve Joy" is a work of art that goes beyond its aesthetics and focuses on the human emotional world. The viewer is addressed directly, he is cheerfully confirmed that he deserves joy… in a time and society in which the concept of joy or happiness is closely linked to performance and the achievement of certain goals. Here, however, we see colorful flowers, wild, sprawling, sparkling with life energy, symbols of joy that speak right into the heart and soul of the beholder and remind him that he may cultivate these in his life, regardless of all limiting thoughts that he may be hidden.
« There is something special about beautiful art, it makes our hearts so light and bold. »
I was born in France and developed an early interest in languages, art, and literature. I studied in Toulouse and Rennes, and today I live and work in southern Germany.
My paintings depict the diverse forms of waves and clouds under different wind and weather conditions, their constantly changing color nuances, but also the delicate elegance of blossoms and the simultaneously lush and fragile growth of nature.
In my work, I am interested in capturing the beauty of the moment, exploring the essence of life and nature, humanity, and the emotions that stir within us through painting. Zest for life, freedom, joy, stillness, wildness, tenderness, reverie, hope...
The reverie and hope that a work of art can radiate allows us to escape the everyday for a moment and discover new perspectives.
