Sastre explores painting as a territory of research, emotion, and freedom. His work questions identity, human connection, and our relationship to the world through expressive figures, symbols, and an intense chromatic palette.
He never tires of exploring the human "mirada," its silences, its wounds, its strength and its contradictions. Each face becomes for him a fragment of soul, a space where the intimate meets the universal.
Oil, acrylic, ink, materials, canvas, wood, or cardboard nourish a deliberately free and instinctive practice. Gesture, movement, and color give his works an almost tactile presence.
After forty years of painting, Franck Sastre still pursues the same quest: to find that particular trait, that deeply personal artistic style that will allow his painting to go even further.
While creating a direct, sincere and emotional dialogue with the viewer.
